Two men charged with felling the Sycamore Gap tree go on trial in the UK.

A majestic sycamore tree that once sat symmetrically between two hills along Hadrian's Wall was felled more than a year-and-a-half ago.

The tree was far from Britain’s biggest or oldest, but when it was mysteriously felled in 2023, it caused disbelief and heartbreak for many across the country who considered it an almost sacred site.
