Electricity prices plunged into negative territory in Finland on Saturday around 11:00. The lowest rate will occur between 15:00 and 16:00 when the price is set to dip to -1.99 cents per kilowatt-hour (KWh). Prices will remain in negative territory until 17:00.

Negative electricity prices occur when production exceeds consumption and producers effectively pay consumers to use electricity.
