The UK announces the final go-ahead on the £38 billion Sizewell C nuclear plant project.

The UK government, the largest shareholder in the project, said Sizewell C, in eastern England, will cost around £38 billion (€44 billion) to construct.

The UK has pivoted toward nuclear power since the start of the war in Ukraine, citing energy security, net zero and the need to modernise its ageing power stations.
