Portugal will invest in grid upgrades after April's blackout.

Authorities in Portugal announced a raft of measures on Monday to strengthen the country's electricity system following the 28 April blackout that left it without power for hours.

The measures include investments in the electricity grid, increasing the number of "black start" power stations and reinforcing critical infrastructure such as hospitals with solar panels and batteries.
