Police received reports of the shooting in the Frankivsk district of Lviv, western Ukraine, at around midday local time on Saturday. Unconfirmed reports suggest Parubiy was shot multiple times by a gunman on an e-bike dressed as a courier.

President Zelensky said the killing of Parubiy was an "terrible murder" and promised an investigation.
