A vast majority of MEPs approved proxy voting for pregnant legislators – but fathers are excluded to appease conservatives.
While the delegated vote has been approved by Parliament, it now needs to be approved unanimously by the European Council. Then it will have to be ratified by the national parliaments before it enters into force.
