Portugal’s Socialist candidate António José Seguro won the first round of the presidential election and will face far-right rival André Ventura in a run-off for the presidency, near-complete results showed on Sunday.

With 95% of the vote counted, Seguro led with 30.6 percent, ahead of Ventura with 24.2 percent.
