Budapest's mayor is charged for organising a banned Pride parade.

Prosecutors in Hungary have filed charges against Budapest’s mayor Gergely Karácsony, seeking to fine him for organising the city’s Pride parade last June.

Organisers estimated more than 200 000 people took part, despite an official ban, in a rebuke of Prime Minister Orbán’s clampdown on LGBTQ rights in the name of “child protection”.
