French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu on Friday announced a ban on installing gas heating systems “by year’s end” in new buildings, including multi-unit housing, to curb France’s dependence on fossil fuels.

Lecornu also announced a doubling of support for electrification by 2030, from €5.5 billion to €10 billion annually.
