European Union member nations and European Parliament lawmakers have reached a provisional deal on watered-down landmark artificial intelligence rules as part of European Commission’s so-called digital omnibus package.

The deal agrees a ban on the use of AI for creating pornographic deepfakes and sexualised imagery.
