More than 1700 passengers and crew have been confined on a cruise ship docked in the French city of Bordeaux after a 90-year-old passenger died of a possible gastrointestinal illness on board.

There is no reason to link the outbreak on a ship that ⁠came from Belfast and Liverpool with the hantavirus cluster, regional health authorities said.
