Sweden confirms the purchase of four frigates from France’s Naval Group.

Announcing the deal on Tuesday, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kirstersson said, ‘It is a tripling of Sweden’s air defence capability compared with today.’
The frigates are expected to cost an estimated €910m each.
The Nordic country had also evaluated offers from the UK’s Babcock together with Sweden’s own Saab and Spain’s Navantia.
