Mainland Spain is about to get its first total solar eclipse in more than 100 years, with the path of totality also touching Iceland and Greenland on 12 August.

Add a crescendoing meteor shower and a six-planet parade on the same day, and the heavens will be overflowing with spectacle.

Next year’s show will last even longer.
