The Netherlands may not have enough gas for a harsh winter.

The country will miss its winter gas-storage target, leaving it insufficiently prepared for an exceptionally harsh winter without additional measures, according to Dutch state-owned gas infrastructure company Gasunie.

Summer gas prices are higher than expected winter prices, making it unprofitable for energy companies to buy now and sell in the winter.
